QUESTIONS

  1. Compare at least two of the computer-based card sort programs mentioned in this chapter. (Note that installation and setup of these programs is generally very quick and easy. You can start using each within 10 minutes).

    1. What the advantages and disadvantages of each program?

    2. What are the major limitations?

    3. Other than facilitating statistical analysis, what are other general advantages of computer-based sorting programs?

  2. Interviewing is a good way to understand more about your target population. Using the Web, find out the differences between directed interviewing and nondirected interviewing techniques. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

  3. Create a task flow for performing a search on Google. Pick something you're looking for on the Web and try to find it using Google. Be as detailed as you can, down to the individual action. What happens after you type the first letter into the input field? What are the various conditions that can occur (e.g., no results, etc.)? What do you do on the results page? Represent the task flow first as an outline, then as a diagram.
