ESTIMATING FOR JOBBING WORK
Firm prices for repairs and replacements can only be given when
the work to be done is capable of being accurately measured. Jobbing
work falls into two distinct categories :
(1) Work which can be seen and measured beforehand.
(2) Work which cannot be measured, or is difficult to measure
beforehand and must therefore be carried out on a time and
material, or daywork basis.
Work in category (2) should always be accepted on a daywork
basis.
