THE BILL OF QUANTITIES
The foundation of the tender is the Priced Bill of Quantities, in which
each item of equipment and unit of materials is listed and priced,
together with the estimated cost of labour for erection.
Net prices at which the Contractor may purchase equipment and
materials are obtained from the manufacturers' trade lists, or, as
explained in Chapter 3, by special quotation for certain machines
and those pieces of equipment which are not usually listed.
The final estimate of labour cost is made up of the primary charge
for the actual work of erection, testing, and also supervision by the
