When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Advantages
The microservice architecture does represent a shift from traditional service design and it does fit well in a cloud-based solution. The advantages of microservices and why they are gaining in popularity might not be immediately obvious. We have touched on how the design of microservices provides advantages for handling change gracefully. From a technical point of view, microservices can be scaled independently both at the service level and at the database.
What might not be clear is the benefit a microservice architecture has to a business. By having small independent services, the business can then look at different ways to maintain and develop microservices. The business now has options to host the services in different ways, ...
