It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Priority Queue
Another related pattern is Priority Queue, which provides a mechanism for treating similar events differently. Using the new customer example from the previous section, it would be possible to have two subscribers for a new customer event. One subscriber would be interested in the majority of the new customers, while one subscriber would identify a subset of the customers that should be handled differently. For example, new subscribers from rural areas might receive an email with additional information about specialized shipping providers.
