When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Vertical scaling
Though it is possible to add physical RAM or an additional disk drive to an on-premises server, most cloud providers support the ability to easily increase or decrease the computing power of a system. This is often with little or no downtime as the system scales. This type of scaling is called vertical scaling and refers to when a resource such as the type of CPU, size and quality of RAM, or size and quality of the disk is altered.
Vertical scaling is often referred to as scaling up while horizontal scaling is often referred to as scaling out. In this context, the term up refers to the size of the resource while out refers to the number of instances.
