RL refers to goal-oriented algorithms that learn how to reach a goal. RL models execute a series of steps and receive a reward when the goal is reached. RL has been used in gaming or multi-agent systems. It has also been used recently in the IoT to make decisions about which actions to carry out to optimize production or to avoid maintenance. In the I-IoT, we can use RL to reward the algorithm when it raises the alarm about appropriate events correctly and to penalize it if it raises a false alarm. In the industrial sector, the control room is always ready to check issues and provide feedback when alerted by an RL algorithm.
