Perhaps you think that Adobe left out rounded-corner frames because you can’t find them in the Tools palette. Not so. InDesign has merely put rounded corner (and other special effect corners) in a different place. David thinks rounded-corner frames are a sure giveaway that you’re creating your design on a desktop computer, and he avoids them. Steve and Christopher, however, think that special effect frames have their uses, provided you use them with moderation.
While InDesign’s Tools palette only shows three built-in frame shape tools—Rectangle, Ellipse and Polygon—you can actually easily create any of the other shapes QuarkXPress has to offer. The key is to select Corner Effects from the Object menu. ...
