One of the more powerful and confusing dialog boxes in QuarkXPress is the Space/Align dialog box. It’s powerful because it gives you great control over how selected boxes or lines are positioned in relationship to each other on the page. But the controls are confusing and so most users just ignore it. InDesign offers the very same abilities to align and distribute objects, using the Align palette, but we find its design is a great deal more intuitive.
