An automated guided vehicle (AGV) named ROVER, developed at the University of the South Pacific is described in this research paper. The vehicle is used to transfer material from a workstation to another in small and medium manufacturing enterprises. To achieve this, the AGV follows white markings on the factory floor. A microcontroller is used to control this direct current motor driven system. Sensors mounted on the AGV give information about its immediate surroundings.
