Link admission control decides which TE tunnels can have resources. It performs the
following functions:
• Determines resource availability—It determines if resources are available.
• Tears tunnels when required—It must tear down existing tunnels when new tunnels
with a high setup priority preempt existing tunnels with a lower holding priority.
• Maintains local accounting—It maintains local accounting to keep track of resource
utilization.
• Triggers IGP updates—It triggers IGP flooding when local accounting information
shows that the available resources exceeded the configured thresholds. ...
