Packet Classification
Packet classification is a means of identifying packets to be of a certain class based on one
or more fields in a packet. The identification function can range from straightforward to
complicated. The different classification support types include:
• IP flow identification based on the five flow parameters: Source IP Address,
Destination IP Address, IP protocol field, Source Port Number, and Destination Port
number.
• Identification based on IP Precedence or DSCP field.
