diffserv-enabled network delivers the packet with a PHB indicated by the DSCP field.
Traffic is policed and marked appropriately at the edge of the diffserv-enabled network. A
PHB is an externally observable forwarding behavior given by a network node to all packets
carrying a specific DSCP value. You can specify PHBs in terms of their relative priority in
access to resources, or in terms of their relative traffic performance characteristics. Two
PHBs, EF and AF, are defined. EF is targeted at real-time applications, such as VoIP. AF
provides different forwarding assurance levels for packets based on their DSCP field.
