Chapter 24 used JDBC to connect to relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) to query and manipulate relational databases. Recall that we created Strings containing the SQL for every query, insert, update and delete operation. We also created our own classes for managing interactions with databases. If you’re not already familiar with relational databases, SQL and JDBC, you should read Chapter 24 first as this chapter assumes you’re already familiar with the concepts we presented there.
