Work creep
For most people, working remotely allows them to focus
and concentrate on the task in hand without interruptions
or distractions. However, the downside of this can be that
individuals ‘in the flow’ do not take regular breaks or set
boundaries around when to stop work. It is fine, for
example, if you have childcare obligations, to stop work at
3.30 pm to pick up your children from school, and then to
make up the time by working until 6:00 pm. However, if
you find yourself continually working late, or checking
your emails during the night or on holiday, this is an
