Highlight the importance of well-being
Be in tune to your team’s stress levels, especially if they
are remote workers. Isolation can aggravate a period of
stress that may be alleviated easily with prompt support. In
Chapter 5 I set out common burnout symptoms that team
members may encounter.
As a manager, watch out for signs such as a dip in
performance – team members missing deadlines,
producing poor quality work and not reaching targets.
Monitor the times that emails are being sent. Team
members may work longer hours than contracted when
they work remotely, and this can lead to stress and burn-
out.
