I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Upgrade Checklist
Use the following checklist to help prepare for a SQL Server upgrade. Check off each item on the list as it is completed. Perform each step in order from top to bottom.
Have free disk space: 90MB, compact install; 180MB, typical; 190MB, full
Install NT Service Pack 5 or later
Install SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 3 or later
Shut down all applications or services that use SQL Server
Estimated Down Time:________hours
Alert users
Have fall-back recovery plan in place
Have another fall-back recovery plan in place in case fall-back plan fails
Maintain SQL Server DBCC commands of all databases
Perform SQL Server backup of all databases
Perform SQL Server backup of master database
