In the previous section, you learned how to use database backups and transaction logs to get up to the point of disaster restore. This section covers the necessary steps and commands to restore a SQL Server database using SQL Server backups.
NOTE
The database being restored cannot be in use while you are trying to restore it.
To restore a corrupted, suspect, damaged, missing, or moving database, perform the following:

From the SQL Enterprise Manager, select Tools and then select Restore Database. The Restore Database dialog box appears (see Figure 10.16).
