It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Building an OLAP Database
Please keep in mind that the primary audience of this book is the database administrator and, as such, the focus of the chapter will be on the administrative activities required to support an OLAP database. The following discussion on creating the OLAP database, cubes, dimensions, levels, and so on is provided only to give you a basic understanding of the concepts behind the development of a multidimensional database using Analysis Services. This discussion is by no means a complete discussion of the many complexities surrounding the design and development of OLAP databases.
