Starting and Stopping the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC)
To start or stop the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC), open the SQL Server Service Manager. Select the Distributed Transaction Coordinator. From this prompt, you can stop and start the DTC service.
