So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring SQL Agent Mail
SQL Agent uses email to alert users about completed jobs or various alerts that might occur on the database server. Chapter 12, “Automating Database Administration Tasks,” covers in detail setting up jobs, alerts, and operators, and how SQL Agent uses email. To configure SQL Agent with an email profile, perform the following:

Open the SQL Server Enterprise Manager. Expand the appropriate Server group, and then expand the appropriate server and open the Management Folder. Right-click the SQL Agent icon and select Properties. You will see the dialog box shown in Figure 25.3.
