I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Troubleshooting Merge and Snapshot Replication
The best way to troubleshoot snapshot and merge replication is to use the Replication Monitor. The Replication Monitor visually alerts you when replication fails and provides detailed success and error messages.
NOTE
You can set up the agent to alert you via email, pager, or network message when something goes wrong. To add such capabilities to a publication agent, use the Agent Job Properties dialog box. You can bring up an Agent Job Properties dialog box by selecting the agent, right-clicking, and selecting Agent Properties. Figure 29.15 shows the Agent Job Properties dialog box with the Notifications tab selected. Use the Notifications tab to have the agent alert you via email or pager.
