After the Upgrade
After an upgrade has been performed, you can use Windows XP compatibility files to handle some of the basic compatibility issues known to exist with a set of tested programs. The information for these “fixes” is contained in the following two files:
SysMain.sdb— This file tries to match up information when a program written for another operating system makes a call and coordinates the interaction between the program and the operating system.
AppHelp.sdb— This file is used to provide a Help message with information for solving the compatibility problem. A dialog box pops up stating that the program may run (in which case you can continue), or it simply won't run under Windows XP (in which case it is “blocked”).
