I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Dial-Up Networking Versus Broadband Connections
Modems translate communications between computers and outside sources such as an Internet service provider (ISP). Standard modems convert the analog signals used on an ordinary voice-grade telephone line, as well as the digital signals used by computers. Newer devices such as cable modems and digital subscriber line (DSL) modems provide an end-to-end digital connection between your computer and your ISP and thus require no digital-to-analog conversion.
