This chapter will give you an insight into the near future of MPLS. The future is always difficult to predict, but some enhancements will most certainly be made to MPLS. In the next few pages, you will read about a few enhancements to MPLS that are likely candidates for deployment in networks. There are other candidate enhancements, as well, that I do not mention, and there are the enhancements and new developments that nobody has thought of yet.
