Changing Your Wallpaper

There are times in life when you want a change in the way things look, a new paintjob on your house, a new set of furniture, a different haircut. You may feel that way sometimes about your NOOK. You can’t give the NOOK a new hairdo, but you can change the wallpaper, which is the background picture on your Home Screen and its panels.

From the home screen, here’s how to do it:

1. Press and hold an empty area of the Home Screen or a panel. A popup screen appears.
2. From the screen that appears, select Change Wallpaper.
3. A new screen appears with two tabs on it: Wallpapers and Photo Gallery. Wallpapers are predesigned pictures that will look nice as wallpaper background. The Photo Gallery are all the photos and pictures on your NOOK. Tap the tab from which you want to choose your wallpaper.

4. You’ll see a list of six choices, as shown in Figure 3-18. There are more than what you see, though. Flick down through the list to see more choices. When you come to a choice you want, tap it.

5. What happens next depends upon whether you choose a picture from Wallpapers or Photo Gallery. If you choose a wallpaper, you’ll see a preview of the wallpaper. If you want it to be the background, tap Set Wallpaper. Otherwise, tap Cancel. If you tap Cancel, you’ll be sent back to the Home Screen, old wallpaper intact.
