Single-Supply Op Amp Design Techniques

Abstract

Although best performance can be obtained from an op amp circuit using dual supplies, a great many designs only have a single positive supply available. In the case of AC coupled circuits, the designer has to design the op amp circuit with a virtual ground local to the stage, yet isolated from previous and subsequent stages. Single-supply inverting op amp stages are easier to deal with than noninverting stages.
