Hosting your websites
Any server can host a website, but Mountain Lion Server creates a complete, dynamic site for you to help your group collaborate. By merely turning on web and wiki services, every user gets an automatically updated web portal called My Page. Users get access to a collaborative environment that includes wikis, blogs, web calendars, and mailing lists. The site uses wiki technology, which enables group editing of content with a web browser. With a few mouse clicks or finger taps, users can edit files with Macs, PCs, and iOS devices.
With OS X Server, you can also host your own websites for use in your organization and for publishing to the Internet. Under the hood are the powerful, industry-standard, open source Apache Web server and the PostgreSQL database. But you don’t need to know anything about Apache or SQL.
