One of the more useful features of a server is to be able to manage client devices so that you don’t have to go around to each device individually to set them up the way you want. In addition, Server-based device management gives you control of what’s on the devices. In the case of Mountain Lion Server, the devices to manage are Apple devices: Macs, iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches.
There’s a quick look at the Users and Groups account settings in Chapters 3 and 4. In this chapter, I dig into more advanced features in managing user and group accounts, as well as managing clients.
