Deciding Whether to Muck Around with Advanced Configuration
In some cases, Mac administrators want to configure particular settings that appear in the advanced options of the Directory Utility to specify particular ways that the OS X Server interacts with Active Directory. In many cases, the default settings are fine, but in some cases, particularly when the AD schema is for a large company, you may need to make some specific changes to these settings.
To access the advanced options for configuring the Active Directory plug-in, access the Directory Utility application by following Steps 1 through 9 in the previous section, “Binding the server.” Click the triangle next to Show Advanced Options to expand the advanced options, as shown in Figure 6-8.
