Using Dynamic Variables as Attribute Values in a Custom Table Template

This example demonstrates the effects of the JUSTIFY= attribute by reporting on a range of numeric data of varying sizes and precision from the data set SALESDATA. This small data set of sales, commission, and profit data is shown in Figure 10.11. The template TABLE_JUST defined in the following code uses the variable names from SALESDATA for the template column names, and it bypasses using GENERIC column definitions for now.

The JUSTIFY= attribute affects whether the formatted width is taken into account when the variable is written. Essentially, JUSTIFY=OFF says to respect the total formatted width and it turns off the ability to justify. The setting JUSTIFY=ON says to ...
