Chapter 10. Deploying BGP/MPLS Layer-3 VPNs
There is a great deal of interest in deploying virtual private networks within service provider networks to provide virtual circuits to a large-scale enterprise network. Conceptually, using virtual private networks (VPNs) to interconnect geographically separated networks can save money, since the service provider's network is shared among many customers, and at the same time allow the service provider to take on some of the routing and network design complexity rather than forcing the enterprise customer to work on these things.
In this chapter, we'll look at deploying layer-3 MPLS VPNs using BGP to signal tunnel setup and carry the customer's routing information through the VPN. We'll begin by discussing ...
