I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

We’ve only scratched the surface of SMO and PBM in this chapter because both SMO and PBM have tremendous capability and offer exceptionally rich programming features. Without a doubt, SMO is an exciting object model that covers everything SQL Server does—and in fact, even more than SQL Server Management Studio covers. As a developer, you might find yourself performing the same task over and over in Management Studio. If that’s the case, consider writing an application using SMO. Also keep in mind that SMO is more feature-complete and performs better than the legacy SQL-DMO, and therefore, it can fulfill many of your administrative needs.
