It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Comparing Sync Services with Merge Replication
Both Sync Services for ADO.NET and Merge Replication can be used to build occasionally connected systems. However, there are some differences between them that you need to be aware of when choosing which one to use. Depending on your requirements, you’ll find one technology is better suited than the other. Table 13-1 lists some of the important differences between the two technologies.
