ADO.NET and Typed DataSets
Accomplishing all of these goals is a tall order, so let’s get started. It makes the most sense to begin with ADO.NET, the technology that most readers of this book likely know best. As discussed earlier, we need to cover the new features and review some longer-standing ones. But rather than cover the truly basic bits, let’s gear our discussion toward the basics of working directly with tables and the extra steps required to work with stored procedures. Doing this will provide a nice baseline for appraising the other data access technologies that we’ll cover in this chapter.
