Now that you are fired up to mine your data, how do you get started building mining models and using them in your applications? This chapter shows you, by using an example of a customer profitability analysis using the Adventure Works data warehouse sample database, AdventureWorksDW2008, that is available for SQL Server 2008. We will create a new Analysis Services database with mining models based on the data and then use scripts that extend the model and query its content.
