I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Web Services for Data: Using ADO.NET Data Services Against EF Models
We have offered a fairly critical evaluation of both L2S and EF thus far, even while highlighting their features and pointing out their elegance. But we also mentioned that Microsoft seems to be taking a liking to ORM and is building new technologies on top of both L2S and EF. One of those technologies, ADO.NET Data Services (code-named “Astoria”), is very compelling indeed. It permits you to create a Web Service on top of your EF model, and do so with almost no code whatsoever.
