So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

With the growing concern about personal data protection and the proliferation of computer viruses, developing a methodology for secure computing continues to be a vital task for Microsoft. Back in 2003, Microsoft created the Trustworthy Computing initiative, which described the advances that needed to be made for people to feel more comfortable using devices powered by computers and software. (The initiative can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/twc/twc_whitepaper.mspx.) From this initiative, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 leverages what is known as the Security Framework, shown in Figure 5-1.
