How This Book Is Organized
This book is broken down into four parts. Each part follows a specific SQL Server “theme,” if you will.
Part I begins with an overview that gives you a succinct breakdown of the chapters in all four parts of the book. Then it dives right in to core SQL Server technologies. We explore the many powerful enhancements made to Transact-SQL (T-SQL), both in SQL Server 2005 and 2008 (in that order). We also introduce you to SQL Server’s .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR) integration features, which cut across our discussions of data types and server-side programming.
