It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In the previous chapter, you learned the basic concepts and vocabulary of online analytical processing (OLAP) and learned how to create your own cube, based on the Northwind database. Building a cube from scratch gives you an understanding of OLAP that would be hard to acquire by merely studying the Adventure Works sample cube supplied with Microsoft SQL Server 2008. After going through Chapter 15’s process of creating a fact table and dimension tables and then designing, creating, and querying a cube in the cube browser, you should have a sense of the relative ease and power of using OLAP.
