flame, and the Gibbs free energy of the raw materials. Particle size measurements

show a single-peaked particle-size distribution, which indicates that the particles

are formed through evaporation–condensation process with a narrow size dis-

tribution, which can be adjusted between 10 and 100 nm. The large number of

layers deposited onto the target rod allows accurate and independent control of

the radial index difference and active dopant profiles in the fiber core.
