4.1 Introduction
Since its intro duction approximatively 15 years ago [37 4], the DNA microarray
technology has evolved rapidly.

However, microarray results are still marred
by several technical issues that are often neglected. This chapter will survey
and in some cases expose the most relevant issues.
Although DNA microarrays are all based on the same fundamental princi-
