42. The Law of Independence
Leaders know who they are and what they believe in, and they think for themselves.
Leaders tend to be independent in their thinking. They are very clear about their values, their goals, and their personal missions. They are clear about what they stand for and believe in. They don’t deviate from their values for any reason, especially the core values of integrity and responsibility.
Leaders have a reasonable concern for the feelings and opinions of others, but they are neither hypersensitive nor preoccupied with possible disapproval or disagreement. They invite input and ideas from others, but then they make their own decisions. They go their own ways.
