Acting upon Programs

In turn, understanding human goals leads to acting upon programs to achieve the goals. Acting means that the helpees are planning and implementing action steps. The helpees are focusing their actions upon living effectively in their real-life contexts. The helpees act to get from where they are to where they want or need to be.

We observe the helpees acting when they design plans and take action steps to achieve their goals. Acting involves defining specific performance objectives, developing detailed programs to achieve those objectives, and implementing the steps of the program. In this manner, the helpees act programmatically.
