It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Before you install Xbox 360 as a Media Center extender, make sure you have all the latest patches from the Microsoft Update Web site for Xbox 360 and your Windows Vista Media Center PC. The continual updates allow the two systems to integrate more effectively.
Using an Ethernet cable, you can connect any Media Center extender to your home network, creating a wired connection. This type of connection provides fast and reliable networking and is recommended over a wireless connection. Yes, we said it! If you have the choice to connect your extender using a wired connection or a wireless connection, you should always choose a wired connection for better performance.
