It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Careful planning is the most important task you must undertake when deploying applications with Windows Vista. The first step is building an application inventory. Then you must prioritize, categorize, and document the installation of each application. MDT 2008 and ACT provide tools that help with this step.
