Windows Vista includes several improved update capabilities when compared to Windows XP. Windows Update is now a standalone application that can download updates either directly from Microsoft or from an internal Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server, as shown in Figure 24-1. Because Windows Update provides a single interface to updates downloaded either from Microsoft or from an internal server, users do not have to learn how to use two separate tools. Windows Update can also allow users to browse beta updates if you configure it to do so.
