I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
58. People Will Look for Shortcuts Only if the Shortcuts are Easy
Do you use keyboard shortcuts when you’re typing on the computer? Do you use some, but not others? Why do you do that?
People will look for ways to do something faster and with fewer steps. This is especially true if it’s a task they’re doing over and over. But if the shortcut is too hard to find, or if a habit is ingrained, then people will keep doing it the old way. This seems paradoxical, but it’s all about the perceived amount of work. If it seems like too much work to find a shortcut, then people will stay with their old habits (they are even satisficing about satisficing).
