A Designer’s Research Manual
Clear documentation in all stages of the research
process allows for rapid analysis, application, and
dissemination of research fi ndings. By developing a
method for careful cataloging of research, the process
is both more effi cient and more accurate.
Though designers are not required to publish their
research in a traditional sense, as scientists and
academics are, they do present their fi ndings to the
client. Proper documentation will allow the client to
understand how conclusions have been made and
