How it works...

In this recipe, which is the longest one we have covered, we joined a number of different recipes together. So many that you could be forgiven for thinking that SNMP actually stands for "Surely, No More Policies!"

Firstly, with newer versions of ACI, the contract is required (it was not required in earlier versions), so we finally got around to using that. This permitted traffic between the ACI fabric and the SNMP client, which we set up as an external data collector. We then created policies and enabled the fabric to be polled by the entire 192.168.1.0/24 subnet.
